ONE PLACE TO RUN THE WHOLE COMPANY

Three directions for a custom operations platform built specifically for Bittner Blacktop — clients, estimates, scheduling, crews, invoices and payments in a single system, shaped around how paving actually works rather than a generic field-service tool. All three are drawn in black and white on the Bittner mark.

01

Day Board Light · card-based

The familiar shape of business software, done well. Fixed sidebar, white cards on soft grey, the day laid out in crew lanes so you can see at a glance who is where and what is left. The safest, most immediately legible of the three — nobody needs training to use it.

  • Organized around today — crew lanes with times, addresses, tonnage and balances
  • Six-day weather strip with a bar that flags jobs scheduled into rain
  • Material calculator and seal-coat recall sit in the right rail, always visible
  • Best if Justin wants something that feels like a better Jobber, not a different animal

02

Command Console Dark · dense

A dark, high-contrast console with a horizontal top nav and a six-across command strip of the numbers that matter. Adds a live map of where both crews are right now, and progress bars on each crew's day. Reads as expensive and purpose-built — the most differentiated from anything he is paying for today.

  • Live board — crew cards with a progress bar and the stop currently in flight highlighted
  • Map panel showing truck positions and the rest of the route
  • Pure white on near-black; reads well on a shop iPad in direct sun
  • Best if the pitch is "this is a serious piece of equipment, not a subscription"

03

Pipeline Light · editorial

Built around the money rather than the day. A six-column pipeline across the top — leads, estimates out, scheduled, in progress, ready to invoice, unpaid — so the first thing seen every morning is where every dollar in the business currently sits. Hairline rules instead of cards, large display type, a lot of white space.

  • The pipeline is the homepage — six columns, counts and dollars, top three names in each
  • Today's stops below it as a clean list, not a grid of boxes
  • Most minimal of the three; closest to the design language of the public site
  • Best if the sell is "you will finally see the whole business on one screen"
